Tokyo, April 21 (QNA) - Senior officials from Japan, the United States and South Korea will hold a meeting Tuesday to discuss ways to curb North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said Friday.
The talks in Tokyo will be held between Kenji Kanasugi, director general of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Joseph Yun, U.S. special representative for North Korea policy, and Kim Hong Kyun, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs at the South Korean Foreign Ministry, Japanese Kyodo News Agency reported.
They are expected to consult each other on joint responses to North Korea, which has test-fired multiple ballistic missiles and shows signs of conducting its sixth nuclear test.
"Japan urges North Korea to immediately halt its actions that violate U.N. Security Council resolutions," Kishida told reporters. (QNA)
