Cairo, June 22 (QNA) - Qatar participated today in the third meeting of the expert group concerned with following up on the implementation of the 2030 media map for sustainable development.
The Director of the international cooperation and agreements department Sheikh Ahmed bin Thani Al Thani participated in the meeting which will continue for two days. The meeting recommended the importance of persistent follow-up for the implementation of projects and initiatives in Media Map of Sustainable Development 2030 through highlighting the files of high priority for the Arab region, including food and water security.
The meeting noted that the Media map of sustainable development endorsed by Council of Arab Information Ministers included a multitude of events and activities in the context of collective work which aims at devoting the Media role as an indispensable tool in achieving sustainable development in the Arab region.
The meeting discussed the aforementioned Media map, in addition to developing the sufficient means of mechanisms that contribute to implementing the programed activities, which is specifically dedicated to achieving the seventeen sustainable development goals that are based on establishing the principles of partnership between governments, the private sector and civil society, with the objective of enhancing development capabilities on the front of joint Arab media work, in order to devote the medias role as a primary partner and supporter of development work in the Arab region.
