Qatar National Library Offers Children, Young Adults an Active and Engaging Summer

Doha, June 27 (QNA) - Qatar National Library will offer its visitors a fun-filled summer break with activities that will attract children, young adults, and those interested in research and learning. Highlights of July include the summer camp activities for young adults, the children's summer reading challenge and a lecture on the evolution of the image of Arabs in Western cinema and press.
Starting 1 July, the Library, in collaboration with Little Thinking Minds, will be holding a summer reading challenge for children between 7-14 years to encourage them to read during the summer break.
On 3 July, the Library invites members of the public to attend a lecture in collaboration with the French Institute in Qatar and the Doha Film Institute, to discuss the evolution of the image of Arabs in Western cinema and press. The lecture will be delivered by Slimane Zeghidour, a French-Algerian journalist, writer, researcher for prestigious newspapers and current editor-in-chief at TV5 Monde.
On 4 July, the Library invites new members to an introductory session about Library membership. Participants will learn about the Library's membership benefits, how to use the self-borrowing stations and how to find books and other resources in the Library's collections.
On 5 July, the Library will offer parents an online session to discuss different ideas and techniques to develop their children's personal and social skills during the summer break. The session will be presented by Fathi Lotfy, Clinical Consultant at Leo Kanner Center for Educational Therapy.
The Library is excited to host its third "Young Adults' Summer Camp," offering a variety of exciting activities for 12 to 18 year-olds including, "How to Become a Scientist" on 23 July, "Learn Designing on Canva" on 25 July, "Career Guidance Book Club" in collaboration with the Qatar Career Development Center on 27 July, "Robotics for Young Adults" on 30 July, Bullying and its Treatment Methods" and "How to Protect Myself," in partnership with the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center on 1 and 3 August, "Start, Change and Enjoy" with the writer Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al Enzi on 2 August, "Young Engineers" on 6 - 10 August and finally, "Young Adults Arts and Crafts on 11 August.
The Library will continue to host a variety of fun and engaging events online throughout July and August 2022. (QNA)
