Arab League Signs MoU with Save Children International to Protect Children's Rights

Cairo, September 19 (QNA) - The Arab League signed Monday a memorandum of understanding with Save the Children International to support the efforts of the entire organizations working in the field of protecting children's rights in the Arab region.
In a statement, the General-Secretariat of the Arab League stated that the MoU comes to synergize the efforts in pursuit of promoting children's rights and as part of a commitment to the joint interest of the two parties to support the sustainable development goals, especially concerning children's category, including poverty reduction and response to the emergency cases in the Arab region, adding that the MoU focuses on the strategic priorities of the two sides to further achieve the optimal interest of the child, noting that the agreement items are valid for three years since the date when signed by the two parties, and it is possible to extend this period upon written approval by the two parties.
Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the Arab League Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh said that the upcoming period will mark the commencement of implementing the work plan attached to the agreement which entails setting the programs and strategies in support of the childhood topics, monitoring the climatic impacts on the situation of children to formulate the adaptation plan to climate change and mitigate its impacts on children, in addition to setting the training programs to further enhance the engagement of children in their relevant issues.
