Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Mourns Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

Doha, September 26 (QNA) - The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs mourned the death of Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, the founding chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.

"The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar mourns the loss of preeminent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, the former Chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, who passed away on Monday," the Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The statement added that the Arab and Islamic nation has lost one of the most venerable religious scholars, who always defended Islamic causes and had an effective impact in spreading Sharia message and Islam with wisdom and through the approach of moderation.

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs extended sincere condolences to the bereaved family and to the Arab and Islamic nation, praying the Almighty Allah to have mercy upon him, make paradise his last abode, and grant his family and the Arab and Islamic nations solace and fortitude.
