Qatari GDP Grows 6.3% YoY in Q2

Doha, September 30 (QNA) - Qatar's real GDP in Q2 of 2022 saw a growth of 6.3 percent on an annual basis, official data showed Friday.
The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) released today preliminary estimates of gross domestic product at current and constant prices for the second quarter (Q2) of 2022. They showed GDP at constant prices was QR 171.97 billion, compared to QR 161.71 billion in the same period of last year. GDP grew 3.6 percent on a quarterly basis, from the QR 165.93 billion reported in Q2.
Gross domestic product at current prices (nominal GDP) meanwhile jumped 40.7 percent in Q2 on an annual basis QR 219.87 billion. It also grew 11.5 percent when compared to previous quarter of 2022 revised estimate of QR 197.17 billion.
The nominal gross value added (GVA) estimate of Mining and Quarrying activities was estimated at QR 98.09 billion in Q2 2022, which shows an increase of 70.6 percent over the estimate of Q2 2021 placed at QR 57.49 billion. Compared to the previous quarter Q1 2022, revised estimate of QR 83.99 billion, an increase of 16.8 percent in the GVA of this sector is recorded. The real GVA of these activities was estimated at QR 63.88 billion in Q2 2022, showing an increase of 1.2 percent compared to the estimate of Q2 2021 (QR 63.15 billion), compared to Q1 2022 revised estimate of QR 61.73 billion, an increase of 3.5 percent in the real GVA of this sector is also recorded.
