Qatar Participates in 117th Meeting of GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee

Riyadh, October 03 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the work of the 117th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held in the Secretariat General headquarter in Riyadh of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari headed the delegation of the State of Qatar to the meeting. The Qatari delegation included HE Chairman of General Authority of Customs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal.

During the meeting, Their Excellencies discussed several topics of common interest listed on their agenda, including the recommendations submitted by the GCC Committee of Governors of Monetary Institutions and Central Banks, the GCC Customs Union Authority, and the Gulf Common Market Committee.

HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, and HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, participated in the joint meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the GCC States, held with the Director General of the International Monetary Fund.

During the meeting, the importance of the continued efforts of GCC countries to adapt to current financial and economic developments as well as to regional and international challenges was reiterated. The importance to support and promote joint GCC economic development was also reaffirmed.

The 117th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the GCC preceded the 66th meeting of the GCC Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance Committee, held in Riyadh last Monday. (QNA)
