  • BURKINAFASO

Ouagadougou, June 13 (QNA) - At least six people were killed on Saturday in an armed attack on Alga, a town in the province of Bam, northern Burkina Faso.
An attack attributed to militants affiliated with extremist movements cost six civilians their lives in Alga, security sources said.
The militants attacked the village of Boulounga and the gold-mining site of Alga, according to the sources.
They set fire to houses and looted property on the gold-mining site, the security sources said, adding that here were several victims, without giving further details.
Recently, 11 army soldiers were killed in Burkina Faso following an armed attack in the northern Burkina Faso province of Seno. Burkina Faso's army has been for years facing armed groups who always target farmers and shepherds.
The authorities in Burkina Faso announced last month that at least 50 civilians were killed in an attack carried out by unidentified gunmen in the east of the country. (QNA)
