Nomas Center Announces Its Summer Events

Doha, June 13 (QNA) - The Nomas Center -affiliated to the Ministry of Culture- announced the launch of its summer activities on June 19, targeting (male & female) young people from 8 to 14 years old.
The Head of Programs and Activities at Nomas Center, Jassim Al Maadeed, said in a statement to (QNA), that the center has early prepared to receive its visitors during the summer by creating a clear program plan that contains a myriad of beneficial activities and events that contribute to enriching the knowledge of the affiliates.
He pointed out that the center offers sporting events and activities, including archery, in cooperation with Al Ramy Sports Club, and a swimming course at Lusail Sports Hall.
He pointed out that Nomas will organize, within its summer program, the Council Etiquette course, which is concerned with teaching the members the etiquette of the Council and the methods of preparing and serving Arabic coffee to guests, and receiving guests in the Council, as well as organizing cruises for the members - if the number of registered is complete - in order to teach them diving techniques, Introducing them to the marine environment, the names of boats, their types and specializations, the names of marine tools that are utilized in boats, during fishing and diving, and how to coexist with this life that ancestors continued in the past and lived their lives depending on the sea and pearl extraction.
For her part, Dr. Haya Al Maadidi, Deputy Director of the Nomas Center, explained in a similar statement to QNA that the center (The Female Branch) will organize various programs and activities for girls, including the pearling trip, during which the affiliates will be introduced to the history of pearls in Qatari society, its importance, types and names. , as well as its uses as well, and the establishment of practical workshops within the trip to consolidate the information among the female members.
The Vice President of the Nomas Center Dr. Haya Al Moadadi said in statement to (QNA) that the female branch of the center is set to organize various programs and activities for girls, including the pearl trip, during which the affiliates will be introduced to the history of pearls in the Qatari society, its importance, types and names, as well as its uses as well, and practical workshops will be held within the trip to consolidate the information among the members.
She stressed the center's commitment to teaching the female members the Qatari customs and traditions and instill them in the minds of the next (male & female) generation, by organizing the "Etiquette of the Seat" course, which sheds light on teaching female affiliates the etiquette of permission and entry, the etiquette of dealing with others, as well as the etiquette of dialogue and listening, noting that the participants will provide practical application and role-play during the course.
She added that the remaining events that will be available for girls, include "folk traditions" course, which seeks to teach the participants the popular games with their names, decorative tools, and heritage corners, in addition to the etiquette program of the council, hospitality and the preparation of the fawala with practical applications.
Nomas Center is one of the educational institutions and bodies in the country that seek to teach the Qatari identity and heritage to young people by investing their free time in education. (QNA)
