Lecture on Occasion of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Kicks off in Barzan Youth Centre

Doha, June 15 (QNA) - Barzan Youth Centre organized a lecture entitled "Their Care is Fulfilled" in collaboration with the Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan) on the occasion of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), which coincides with June 15 of each year.
The lecture was delivered by Salem Al-Enezi, Head of the Psychological Unit at Ehsan Center, during which he discussed the ways of strengthening the recognition of the role undertaken by the elderly and their contribution to social, economic and cultural development, empowering, and supporting their active participation in all fields. He discussed also raising the societal awareness of their rights and fundamental causes, as well as working to achieve intergenerational communication and emphasizing on the role of the family in their care and the limitation of shelter.
