Moscow, June 17 (QNA) - Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stressed that Russia can never rule out a return to negotiations with Ukraine, but maintained that the two sides remain quite apart on their positions so far.
He also dismissed reports of progress being made between the two countries in negotiations.
Belarus and Turkey hosted Russian and Ukrainian negotiations that led to agreements on establishing humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians and provide food and medical aid. However these agreements did not last long.
Russia launched a military operation against its neighbor Ukraine on February 24. The operation was met with international condemnation and economic sanctions on Moscow. Russia's conditions to end that operation is for Kiev to abandon plans to join military blocs and declare itself a neutral state. Ukraine for its part considers these conditions an interference in its internal affairs. (QNA)
