Berlin, June 19 (QNA) - NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned that the war in Ukraine could last for years and urged the west to prepare to support Kyiv while the war grinds on.
"We must prepare for the fact that it could take years. We must not let up in supporting Ukraine. Even if the costs are high, not only for military support, also because of rising energy and food prices," He said in a statement to German Welt am Sonntag.
He added that the participants in the upcoming NATO summit in Madrid "will declare that Russia is no longer a partner, but a threat to our security, peace and stability."
The Russian military operation in Ukraine has been going on for more than three months amid dwindling chances of reaching agreements and understandings between Moscow and Kyiv to stop the confrontations that caused a wave of displacement that Europe has not experienced since World War II. (QNA)
