Ministry of Municipality, QRCS Launch "Secure Your Life" Initiative for Workers

Doha, June 19 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Department of Mechanical Equipment, launched a joint initiative in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) under the slogan: "Secure your life".
The initiative aims to educate workers and drivers, and highlight the importance of first aid and its main role in ensuring health and safety in workplaces and saving lives.
This initiative comes in implementation of the plans of the Department of Mechanical Equipment to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 in the field of human development for the benefit of employees and workers, and in line with the goals of sustainable development in building the capacities of vulnerable groups and raising their awareness of occupational safety and health in a way that contributes to removing the causes of work accidents and preventing their occurrence.
On the sidelines of the launch of the initiative, the Head of the Financial and Administrative Department of the Mechanical Equipment Department Eng. Khaled Khalil Al-Haddad, stressed the importance of this type of initiative, which comes within the keenness of the Ministry of Municipality to educate its employees, raise the level of their health culture, and create a work environment free of injuries and accidents.
For her part, the Muna Fadel Al-Sulaiti, Executive Director of Volunteering and Local Development at Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), said that facing crises and emergencies, whether by preparing for them, anticipating or dealing with them if they occur, puts on our shoulders, as humanitarian organizations, a major role in this field, to ensure protection for weak groups, including the workers category, which constitutes the largest human base in the State of Qatar.
