Taipei, June 20 (QNA) - A magnitude 6.0 earthquake shook Taiwan's capital, Taipei, on Monday morning. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau said that the quake struck at a depth of 6.8 km in Hualien county, halfway down the east coast of the island. The quake was felt across Taiwan.
Taiwan lies near the junction of two tectonic plates and is prone to earthquakes. More than 100 people were killed in a quake in southern Taiwan in 2016, while a 7.3 magnitude quake killed more than 2,000 people in 1999. (QNA)
