Cairo, June 20 (QNA) - The work of the second meeting of the Media Experts Group on the Arab Media Strategy Action Plan, held in Cairo, concluded Monday after two days of discussions, with the participation of the State of Qatar represented by the Qatar Media Corporation.
The Qatar Media Corporation was represented by the director of planning, quality, and international cooperation Ahmed Ghasab Al Hajri, and the director of the international cooperation and agreements Sheikh Ahmed bin Thani Al-Thani.
The meeting, held at the Arab League, stressed the importance of continuing media support for the Palestinian cause and combating terrorism and extremism.
The Media Analysts Group also dealt with the mechanisms for implementing the objectives of the Arab media strategy, including serving sustainable development, valorizing the civilized and cultural image of the Arab personality, and improving media performance through training programs and partnerships in cooperation with the concerned media organizations.
The results of the group's work will be presented to the Permanent Committee of Arab Media to make recommendations in this regard, in preparation for presenting it to the next session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers. This meeting was held in implementation of the recommendations issued by the Executive Office of the Council at its last meeting in Baghdad in March.
The group's assignment is to evaluate the implementation track of the Arab Media Strategy, including diagnosing the objective obstacles that have hindered this guiding document that has been approved by the Council of Arab Information Ministers in 2017, within an effective methodological vision and according to a meticulous schedule and actionable priorities.
The Council of Arab Information Ministers had decided during its last session in June 2021 to extend the work of this strategy for an additional five years. (QNA)
