Magnitude 5 Earthquake Strikes South Sandwich Islands In Atlantic Ocean

London, June 21 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit the South Sandwich Islands, one of the British Overseas Territories in the South Atlantic Ocean.
According to the American Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km.
So far, there have been no reports of material or human losses caused by the earthquake.
The South Sandwich Islands are archipelago that form part of the "South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands" region, which is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. (QNA)
