Paris, June 21 (QNA) - French President Emmanuel Macron rejected a resignation offer from Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.
The Elysee said in a statement on Tuesday, that Macron rejected the resignation of the Prime Minister as the government needs to "stay on task and act", adding that the French President will now seek "constructive solutions" to the political deadlock in talks with opposition parties.
This came after the legislative elections that took place on Sunday, in which Macron lost his majority in Parliament.
Marcon is expected to hold a series of meeting with leaders of political parties at the Elysee.
Macron's Ensemble (Together) alliance won 245 of the 577 seats in the National Assembly. An absolute majority would require 289 out of 577 seats. (QNA)
