/Qatar Economic Forum/ President of Kazakhstan: We Seek a Strong Relationship with OPEC

Doha, June 21 (QNA) - HE President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his country's desire to establish a strong relationship with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), stressing in the same context that demand for Kazakhstan's oil remains high.
His Excellency stressed, in a panel discussion that took place as part of the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, that Russia remains the main route for Kazakhstan's oil, and the country needs to reconsider how to diversify its routes.
He expressed his concern regarding developments in Ukraine and the impact of the Russian war in Ukraine on his country's economy. In this context, he said that it would be good if Ukraine abandons plans to join NATO and obtain nuclear weapons.
Meanwhile, HE President Tokayev said that he discussed some issues of joint interest with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saint Petersburg last Friday. He also said that US President Joe Biden's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be a pivotal event for the oil market. (QNA)
