Tehran, June 22 (QNA) - Earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Moqam port in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, at dawn Wednesday.
The epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, according to the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute of Tehran University.
So far, there have been no reports of material damage or human losses caused by the earthquake.
In mid-June, a series of earthquakes hit Hormozgan province, the strongest of which was 5.2.
Iran is subjected from time to time to tremors and earthquakes of different intensity, because it is located over a major fault zone. (QNA)
