Baghdad, June 27 (QNA) - The Iraqi Army signed a joint Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) pertaining to upgrading the capabilities of the Iraqi army in terms of training and armament.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the joint MoU with NATO regarding the coding system NCS was signed by Chief of Staff of the Army and First Special Forces Staff Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and the Commander of NATO Mission Iraq General Giovanni M. Iannucci, for the sake of supporting and upgrading the logistic system of the Iraqi armed forces to build its capabilities at all levels.
This kind of mid-term MoU would perpetuate the bilateral cooperation between the two sides and catch up with the countries under its umbrella, to supply the military institution with advanced technology that raises the capabilities of the army and their combat readiness at all levels, the statement added.
