Russian Central Bank Extends Ban on US Dollar, Euro Withdrawal

Moscow, August 01 (QNA) - Russian Central Bank (RCB) announced Monday extending its ban on foreign currency withdrawal, particularly the US Dollar and Euro from bank deposits for extra six months till March 9, 2023.
According to the announcement, individuals are prohibited to withdraw their cash in the US Dollar or Euro with their holdings only accessible in Ruble according to the daily exchange rates.
In early March, RCB announced a package of measures including a ban on US Dollar and Euro withdraws from bank deposits in a bid to achieve financial and economic stability in Russia amid the Western sanctions imposed on the country. (QNA)
