Reykjavik, August 01 (QNA) - A 5.4-magnitude earthquake shook southwest Iceland, the country's meteorological office announced.
In a statement on Monday, the office said the earthquake damaged facilities, but no injuries were recorded, adding that hundreds of earthquakes occurred this morning due to renewed earthquake activity of "magma" movements under the earth's crust.
The earthquake is part of a renewed series of earthquakes that began on Saturday.
The volcano erupted last year for months in this region and was accompanied by a series of strong earthquakes. (QNA)
