Brussels, August 02 (QNA) - The European Union (UN) welcomed the departure of the ship carrying Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea port of Odesa, for the first time since February 26.
Spokesperson for UN's Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano said that the departure of the grain shipment from Ukraine is a "first step" towards easing the food crisis caused by the Russian military operation against Ukraine.
But Stano said that the EU still expects the "implementation of the whole deal."
The first shipment of Ukrainian grain left on Monday the Ukrainian port of Odesa for the port of Tripoli in Lebanon.
On July 22, Ukraine and Russia signed a landmark deal with Turkey and the United Nations aimed at easing a global food crisis caused by blocked Black Sea grain deliveries. (QNA)
