Lebanese President, ALECSO's Director-General Discuss Cooperation


Beirut, August 02 (QNA) - Lebanese President Michel Aoun discussed Tuesday with Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, ways to strengthen cooperation between Beirut and the organization in the cultural field.
During the meeting, Aoun stressed the need to have the capabilities to strengthen the role of culture and education in Arab societies as a result of the severe economic crises and the repercussions they cause on younger generations.
For his part, Ould Amar pointed out that preparations are underway to celebrate in 2024 the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon as the capital of Arab culture, in cooperation with the Lebanese National Committee.
The director of ALECSO met earlier with Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri, where he briefed him on the work programs of the organization and the formulas of cooperation with the Ministry of culture in Lebanon. (QNA)
