Istanbul Witnesses 115 Percent Tourists Increase First Half of 2022

Istanbul, August 02 (QNA) - The number of tourists who visited Istanbul during the first six months of 2022 increased by 115 percent, reaching a total of 6,755,300 tourists, compared to the same period last year.
The Istanbul Directorate of Culture and Tourism said in a statement today that the number of visitors to the city rose to 6,755,300 tourists during the first half of this year, after receiving 1,470,586 tourists last June, an increase from June 2021, amounting to about 115 percent.
The statement elaborated that German tourists ranked first with a total of 126,507 visitors, followed by Russians with 117,169 tourists, and Iranians coming third with 99,115 tourists.
Istanbul received 9,025,004 tourists during the past year.
Turkey's revenues from tourism achieved a growth of 103 percent during the current year, rising to USD 24,482,332,000. (QNA)
