While the talks with Taiwan leadership will focus on reaffirming the US support for its partnership with Taiwan to serve the shared interests, including advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
In Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi condemned the visit saying that Washingtons betrayal on the Taiwan issue is bankrupting its national credibility.
