Ramallah, August 03 (QNA) - The Palestinian Foreign Ministry warned of the dangers of escalating attacks by Israeli settlers and their armed militants against unarmed Palestinians and the accompanying destruction of their property and land.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the current settlement escalation poses a creeping and accelerating threat to the chances of implementing the principle of the two-state solution and the embodiment of an independent Palestinian state.
The statement referred to the threats of the so-called Council of Settlements of the Northern West Bank regarding the seizure of cars and equipment of Palestinian farmers, especially in the northern Jordan Valley, in addition to the continuation of demolition campaigns.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the dangers arising from the attempts of these Israeli settlement councils to establish themselves as local governing bodies and to impose their control and authority on Palestinian towns and villages.
The West Bank is witnessing an unprecedented acceleration in the pace of Israeli settlement construction on its territory, especially in the area known as C, where Palestinians are suffering from difficult living conditions due to the Israeli destruction of their homes, confiscation of their land, and difficulties accessing water resources.
