Qatar University Hails Olympic Committee's Decision to Establish QCSF

Doha, August 03 (QNA) - Qatar University commended on Wednesday the Olympic Committee's announcement to establish the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) with the aim of developing sporting activities in universities as well as motivating students to take part in different sports activities.
Director of Sports Affairs at Qatar University Asmaa Al Nuaimi, who is also member of the QCSF Board of Directors, said that QCSF seeks to provide an opportunity for student athletes to demonstrate their talents and athletic abilities. She added that the federation also aims to enhance the students' concept of physical activity and the importance of physical and mental health as well as boosting cooperation between the state's higher education institutions on the sports level.
Al Nuaimi also reiterated Qatar University's commitment to creating an environment that motivates all students to take part in sporting activities. She added that the university works on that by ensuring the availability of sporting facilities, coaches, training programs, and sporting events. She added that Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation will act as an umbrella that encompasses all the university's participation in sporting competitions.
Qatar University represented by the Sports Affairs Directorate offers a broad variety of sporting, health, recreational programs as well as sports leadership and other educational programs that helps students engage in activities and opportunities to make them better at an individual and a team level.
