Qatar Basketball Junior National Team Top Group Stage at GCC U-18 Championship

Dubai, August 03 (QNA) - Qatar Basketball Junior National Team secured on Wednesday their fifth consecutive victory to top the group stage table at the GCC U-18 Basketball Championship for the Asian Cup held in the UAE and set to run until next Saturday.
Qatar defeated Oman 82-32 in the concluding round which also saw Kuwait defeating the UAE 39-37 and Saudi Arabia beating Bahrain 71-63.
With that victory, Qatar topped the tournament table with 10 points and qualified for the semi finals along with second-placed Saudi Arabia who bagged 9 points, Kuwait who came third with eight points and fourth-placed Bahrain with seven points.
The semi-final matches will be played Friday with Qatar facing Bahrain and Saudi Arabia competing Kuwait.
The winners in the semi-finals are set to play the final on Saturday and qualify for the Asian Cup due to be held in late September in Tehran. (QNA)
