Beirut, August 04 (QNA) - New collapses occurred Thursday in the wheat silos of the Beirut port on the second anniversary of the blast.
Four silos fell, and dust covered the surrounding area, especially in Ashrafieh and Beirut.
The most fragile part of the wheat silos in the Beirut port fell on Wednesday. Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh expected other silos to fall.
On Aug. 4, 2020, a blast considered the most powerful non-nuclear explosion in the world destroyed Beirut port. The explosion killed more than 200 people, injured about 6,500, displaced thousands of families and caused billions of dollars in damage. (QNA)
