QCB Denies Issuing Commemorative Coins for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Doha, August 04 (QNA) - Qatar Central Bank (QCB) denied the issuance of commemorative coins for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In a statement on Thursday, QCB pointed out that what has been circulating in the social media platforms with respect to commemorative Coins for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is not approved by the official authorities that are organizing the tournament, stressing that Qatar Central Bank has nothing to do with what is being circulated in this regard, as it has no legal jurisdiction either, whether in terms of nominal value or legal status. It explained that legal action will be taken against the entities that have issued these coins or those who are promoting these currencies.
Moreover, QCB announced that the commemorative coins for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament are poised to be issued soon in coordination with the official organizers of the tournament.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will start on November 21 and conclude on December 18. (QNA)
