Gaza, August 06 (QNA) - The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza announced Saturday that all scheduled surgeries and work at outpatient clinics in all hospitals have been stopped in order to treat and conduct emergency operations for those injured due of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip.
Spokesman for the Ministry Ashraf Al Qidra said that countdown to stopping health services has begun due to the power outage, noting that the coming hours will be difficult for the health system and the vital departments in the hospitals.
He called on international, humanitarian and relief institutions to stand up to their responsibilities to pressure the Israeli occupation to leave the sick cases through the Beit Hanoun checkpoint, and to work immediately to supply the health system with its urgent health needs and fuel supplies, as the occupation prevents the entry of medical and diagnostic devices and supplies into the Strip.
He noted that the occupation is deliberately targeting residential neighborhoods, which increases the number of martyrs and wounded among civilians, stressing that the readiness in hospitals has been raised and the crews in all departments are mobilized to save the lives of the wounded.
He added that hospitals lack many medicines, and that the health situation is going through its worst, pointing out that the continued closure of the Beit Hanoun checkpoint exacerbates the conditions of patients who need treatment outside Gaza Strip. (QNA)
