Qatar Stock Exchange General Index Falls 238 Points

Doha, September 14 (QNA) - Qatar Stock Exchange index fell at the beginning of Wednesday's trading by 238 points, or 1.79 percent, reaching the level of 13,076 points compared to the end of Tuesday's trading.
The decline recorded is due to the drop in the performance of various sectors that make up the general index, mainly the transportation sector, which decreased by 2.41 percent, the real estate sector by 2.34 percent, bank and financial services sector by 2.04 percent, the communications sector by 1.52 percent and the industries sector by 1.30 percent. As for the consumer services sector, it decreased by 1.12 percent, and the insurance sector recorded the least decline by 0.39 percent.
The Qatari Stock Exchange recorded, at 10:00 am, transactions worth QR 640.188 million, distributed among 149.348 million shares, with the implementation of 18.417 transactions. (QNA)
