Ankara, September 15 (QNA) - The Turkish ministry of interior has announced Thursday the launch of a security operation against members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Hakkari Province, southeastern Turkey.
In a statement, the ministry said that 648 security elements are engaging in this operation, confirming that the operation will continue against PKK until it is entirely uprooted.
Turkish forces have previously launched numerous security operations against PKK and its affiliated organizations, whether at home or abroad, to safeguard its security against the attacks unleashed against the civilians and the security system, the last one was the declaration of a security operation against the organizations' elements last Saturday in Mus province, eastern Turkey, with the participation of 513 security personnel.
