Luhansk Prosecutor General, his Deputy Killed in Bomb Explosion in Eastern Ukraine

Kyiv, September 16 (QNA) -The Prosecutor General of the Luhansk region of the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine, and his deputy, were killed in a bomb explosion.
According to preliminary data, the Luhansk Prosecutor General Sergei Gorenko died of injuries he sustained in an explosion in his office," a spokesman for the region's emergency services said today.
For his part, Leonid Bashnik, governor of Luhansk was quoted by Russian News Agency (Interfax) as accusing the Kyiv authorities of being behind the two assassinations, describing what happened as a "terrorist operation." During the past two weeks, the Ukrainian forces launched a counterattack, in which they regained many areas in eastern Ukraine from Russian control.
Meanwhile, the Russian authorities confirmed that all the goals of its special military operation in Ukraine, which has been going on since February 24, will be achieved, and that its operations are concentrated in the Donbass region, which includes the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and this is countered by military and material support from the European Union and the United States for Ukraine.
