Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs to QNA: Qatar Seeks Effective Participation in 77th Session of UN General Assembly

Doha, September 17 (QNA) - Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and a Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammad Al Ansari affirmed that the State of Qatar seeks effective participation in the meetings of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is being held at the organization's headquarters in New York.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Ansari said that Qatari officials will hold a series of meetings at the bilateral and multilateral levels with their counterparts from various countries and representatives of international and regional organizations to review ways to strengthening relations in various fields, opening new horizons for cooperation and deepening strategic partnerships.
Al Ansari stated that Qatar will launch, on the sidelines of the 77th session of UN General Assembly, the "Women in Conflict Zones" initiative organized by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), in the context of supporting and empowering the State of Qatar for the role of women in societies affected by conflicts, wars and poverty.
He added that the State of Qatar will participate with a number of countries and bodies in organizing and sponsoring a number of high-level side activities and events, including "Innovative Mechanisms for Financing Education", "Localization of Education for A Sustainable Future", "Launching A New Digital Learning Platform that Connects All Educators and Local Organizations", "Impact of Current Global Crises and Challenges on the Situation in the Middle East", "Doha Program Action for Least Developed Countries", and "Scoring for the Goals Events that Highlights Sustainable Development" organized by the permanent mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in cooperation with the Education Above All Foundation and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the State of Qatar, through its participation in the 77th session of the General Assembly, seeks to enrich and crystallize international efforts in addressing the challenges facing many countries of the world today and to develop innovative and promising solutions to these challenges.
He pointed out that the State of Qatar believes in the importance of strengthening international solidarity in order to bring about change that will put many countries on the desired path towards sustainable and comprehensive development.
Al Ansari considered that choosing the motto "Solutions through Solidarity, Sustainability and Science" as the title of the session represents an important occasion to highlight the efforts of the State of Qatar and its endeavors to strengthen the strategic partnership with the United Nations, provide support at the international and regional levels, and affirm Qatar's leading role in promoting pluralism in international action in all fields.
