Dublin, September 17 (QNA) - Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin discussed today with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently visiting Dublin, the developments of the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian presidency said in a statement that President Abbas welcomed any Irish initiative to revive the political process between Palestinians and Israelis.
The Palestinian President praised Ireland's political positions in support of the Palestinian cause in the European Union and international forums, especially its positions in the Security Council.
Negotiations with Israel have been suspended since 2014, after its refusal to stop settlement construction in the occupied West Bank, its repudiation of the principle of the two-state solution and its refusal to release a batch of former Palestinian prisoners languishing in occupation prisons.
