Death Toll from Floods in Pakistan Rises to 1,545

Islamabad, September 18 (QNA) - The death toll from floods in Pakistan rose to 1,545 after 37 people died while 92 were injured in flood-related incidents.
According to data released by the National Disaster Management Authority on Sunday, another 32 people perished in Sindh province and five in Balochistan.
The new 92 injured include 91 in Sindh territory and one in Gilgit-Baltistan, bringing the total number of people injured as a result of monsoon rains and floods to 12,850.
For its part, the World Health Organization raised the alarm about a "second disaster" in the wake of the deadly floods in Pakistan this summer, as doctors and medical workers on the ground race to battle outbreaks of waterborne and other diseases. (QNA)
