Chairman of QC Affirms Digital Economy's Contribution to Attracting Investments

Doha, September 18 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) has participated in the 38th meeting of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in the Union of Arab Chambers and the 48th session of the Arab Labor Conference, which is held in Cairo with wide Arab participation.
On this occasion, HE Chairman of QC Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani emphasized that QC supports the efforts of enhancing the joint Arab labor in various fields, particularly the economic and development fields, pointing out that the convention of the Arab labor conference this year comes under the slogan, "Digital Economy & Employment Issues," which underscores the importance of keeping pace with the substantial evolution currently being witnessed by the world in the field of information and communication technology, which necessitates the qualification of the private sector in alignment with this enormous evolution in digital technology.
He pointed out that the transition to a digital economy will contribute to fostering economic growth, enhance the opportunities of bringing up investment through expedited communication via the internet, as well as the merits of digitization in employment issues and supplying the business markets with essential laborers.
The Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in the Union of Arab Chambers discussed the items incorporated into the agenda of the labor conference, foremost of which is the report of the Director-General of Arab Labor Organization on digital economy and empowerment issues, in addition to the report on the activities and accomplishments of Arab Labor Organization during the year 2021, the application of the conventions and recommendations of Arab labor Organization, the report of artificial intelligence (AI) and the new labor patterns, including another report relevant to digitizing the social protection systems and governance.
