Moscow, September 19 (QNA) - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the killing of 200 Ukrainian soldiers, and the destruction of Ukrainian military vehicles in Donetsk.
The ministry said, in a statement, that the Russian artillery and air strikes on the combat positions of the Ukrainian army killed 200 Ukrainian military personnel and destroyed 11 military vehicles in the Donetsk region.
The ministry added that its forces targeted the airborne "80th attack brigade" of the Ukrainian army in the Seversk region, in addition to the killing and wounding of more than 80 Ukrainian soldiers as a result of the intense shelling on the 59th mechanized infantry brigade in the Pershutravnev area in Dnepropetrovsk region.
In the same context, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the killing of more than 70 Ukrainian militants and the destruction of military centers and equipment belonging to the Ukrainian forces in Zaporozhye.
In the statement, the ministry said, Russian forces targeted positions of the personnel and equipment of the 128th Ukrainian Brigade in the Dolenka region, the 102nd Regional Defense Brigade in the Ribnoyi region, as well as the temporary deployment point of the Karpatskaya Sych battalion.The statement added that, during the past 24 hours, the Russian air defense systems shot down 14 drones, intercepted two Tochka-O missiles, and 24 HIMARS and Olkha missile launchers.
The ministry also announced that Russian air defense systems had shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 plane near the village of Alexandrovka in Kherson Province.
The statement said that, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: (294) planes, (155) helicopters, (1995) drones, (375) anti-aircraft missile systems, (5028) tanks and armored vehicles... in addition to the destruction of ( 839 multiple launch rocket launchers, (3401) field artillery units and mortars ,and (5692) special military vehicles.
On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the killing of 210 Ukrainian soldiers, and the destruction of Ukrainian military vehicles.
The Russian military operation in Ukraine has continued since the 24th of last February, with no signs of an imminent end.
