Seoul, September 20 (QNA) - South Korea urged North Korea on Monday to respond to Seoul's offer of aid to Pyongyang to improve its economic situation in exchange for denuclearization.
This came in a statement made by Minister of Unification of South Korea Kwon Young-se, broadcasted by (Yonhap) News Agency.
The administration of the South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has made every effort within the South's capacity to advance North Korea's denuclearization cycle, and improve inter-Korean relations, while fulfilling previous administrations' agreements, and presenting South Korea's audacious plan, Kwon said, adding that North Korea rejected the offer.
South Korean Minister called on North Korea to return to the negotiating table and open up to dialogue on the basis of 'mutual respect and benefit.' In July, South Korean President called on his country's Unification Ministry to prepare details of a "audacious plan" to advance North Korea's economy if it agreed to give up its nuclear weapons, while Pyongyang criticized and rejected this plan.
