Doha, September 25 (QNA) - The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) has received an ISO 27001 compliance certificate, which is granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) after MSDF applied modern international standards in the areas of information security and risk management.

Chairman of the Information Systems Affairs Committee at MSDF Ahmed Khalil Abdullah said that compliance with the information security standard ISO 27001 has contributed to setting the documentation and vetting mechanisms to ensure adherence to the enforced regulations and laws locally and globally and applying the best practices in this field, affirming that such step contributes to achieving the National Cyber Security Strategy, which the State of Qatar is seeking to achieve through MSDF, clarifying that such standard ensures that the ministry pursues the policy of creating a comprehensive security awareness about information security and safeguards the personal information of the beneficiaries who capitalize on the services afforded by the ministry.

He also stated that the application of ISO 27001 is an indication of the existence of persistent and enforced mechanisms at the ministry for information security appraisal, which is positively reflected in the reduction of any potential security risks and ensures the pervasiveness of performance quality.

In addition, ISO 27001 certification is the internationally recognized mechanism for Information Security Department and represents an applied global model to upgrade, enhance and optimize information security systems.
