Doha, October 19 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday afternoon.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement: At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet commended the outcomes of the meeting of the 8th session of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, held in Istanbul under the chairmanship of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The meeting, along with the agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed within its framework, reflected the depth of the strategic relations between the two fraternal countries, the understanding and common aspiration to expand economic cooperation, and develop the investment partnership in all fields in a way that serves the interests of the two fraternal countries and their people.
The Cabinet also welcomed the results of the state visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Kazakhstan during the period from October 11-14.
The Cabinet stressed that HH the Amir's talks with HE President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed gave a new boast to the developing relations between the two countries on various fields.
The Cabinet also stressed that the participation of HH the Amir in the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held in Astana, Kazakhstan on October 13, and His Highness meetings with a number of countries' leaders participating in the summit, strengthened Qatar's role and its continuous endeavors to encourage dialogue and understanding between countries and to resolve disputes by peaceful means.
The Cabinet then reviewed the report made by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) regarding the latest developments related to COVID-19 and the Cabinet took the following decisions:
1- Amending the Cabinet's decision issued in its regular meeting (31) for 2022 convened on 31/8/2022 regarding wearing facemasks to be as follows; citizens, residents, and visitors are obliged to wear facemasks while visiting health facilities only. The decision stating that all employees and workers whose jobs require being in closed offices and communicating with clients must wear face masks during their work hours remains active.
2- This decision will enter into force as of Sunday 23/10/2022.
After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on its agenda as follows: First: Approval of a draft law regarding dividing the estate law and referring it to the Shura Council.
The draft law was prepared to speed up the procedures for distributing the estate among heirs according to their legal shares to avoid negative impacts of related delay.
Second: Approval of a draft Cabinet decision to issue the executive list of law No. (1) for 2021 regarding military decorations, orders, medals and flags.
Among the provisions included in the draft decision are provisions related to the procedures for awarding medals, the nomination controls for awarding them, their forms, the method of wearing them, and their ceremonies.
Third: Approval of hosting the training course organized by the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) on the Arab framework for describing qualifications of pre-university education (Doha - from October 24-26).
Fourth: The Cabinet followed up the arrangements and preparations for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and took the appropriate decision in their regard.
Fifth: The Cabinet reviewed the following subjects and took the appropriate decision in their regard: 1- The 10th report regarding the work of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee.
The committee, established within the Civil Aviation Authority, is concerned with the several specialization, including developing general policies relating to the civil aviation security, coordination between Ministries and government agencies and other entities involved in the implementation of the National Program for the security of Civil Aviation, evaluating the criteria and procedures in force, in line with the technological developments in the fields of the security of civil aviation and other technologies related to them, and Verifying the taking of all the security considerations into account when building new airports or developing of existing airports.
2- The results of the first meeting of the economic and financial joint committee between the State of Qatar and the Swiss Confederation.
3- The memorandum by HE Minister of Social Development and Family regarding the outcomes of the participation in:
the international forum that highlights the struggle of Algerian women as an example of the struggle of Arab women in the process of liberating their homelands and the Coordinating Committee of the Technical Cooperation Program between the State of Qatar and the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
