Doha, January 18 (QNA) - The general index of the Qatar Stock Exchange gained 56.89, or 0.54 percent, at the beginning of Wednesday's trading, reaching 10633 points.
Data issued by the Qatar Stock Exchange showed that the banking and financial services sector increased by 3.71 percent, the transportation sector by 0.66 percent, the industries sector by 0.42 percent, the real estate sector by 0.35 percent, and the communications sector by 0.02 percent. In contrast, the consumer goods and services decreased by 0.18 percent, and the insurance sector by 0.40 percent.
At 10:00 am, the Qatar Stock Exchange recorded transactions worth QR 79.323 million, distributed among 22205 shares, with the implementation of 2501 transactions. (QNA)
