Iraq, NATO Discuss Military Cooperation

Baghdad, January 24 (QNA) - Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah met Tuesday with the commander of the NATO joint forces in Naples, Admiral Stuart Munch and discussed with him ways to develop the capabilities of the Iraqi army.

During the meeting, they discussed aspects of military cooperation and coordination in order to develop Iraqi Army capabilities and support efforts to combat terrorism, Iraqi Defense Ministry said in a statement.

During his meeting with Admiral Stuart Munch, Iraqi prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani affirmed his country's commitment to the partnership with NATO, expressing Iraq's appreciation for the NATO's supportive position in combating terrorism by providing training to the Iraqi security forces. He affirmed that Iraq is keen to sustain joint action with NATO.
