9th International Conference on Translation and Problems of Interculturalization to Kick Off Saturday

Doha, January 24 (QNA) - The 9th International Conference on Translation and Problems of Interculturalization will kick off next Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Doha, with the participation of 150 translators and academics from around the world.

Organized by the Forum of Arabic and International Relations, the two-day conference will discuss an array of researches and scientific experiences with the attendees' varying cultures and languages.

Director of the Forum of Arabic and International Relations Dr. Mohammed Hamed Al Ahmari will deliver an inaugural speech before the conference, where the first session will discuss the issues of Turkish-Arabic translation, the second session focus on personal translation, the third session will be dedicated to the topic of contemporary translation and digitization, while the fourth session will address the diversified translation.

In the second day, the fifth session will tackle problems of translating the philosophical concepts, and the sixth session will de dedicated to the topic of translating the religious texts and the need to retranslate them.

Additionally, a host of senior translators in the world will participate in the conference, including the former Iraqi Minister of Culture, and head of the UNESCO Chair at Kufa's university Dr. Hassan Nadhem, along with other professional translators.

The conclusion of the conference will be followed by the closing ceremony for Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, where winners of the 8th session of the award will be crowned.

The nominated works included various fields of human sciences, including: Islamic studies, literature, philosophy, social sciences, political sciences, history, and others. (QNA)
