Dili, November 24 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the city Lospalos in East Timor on Sunday.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was 138 km northeast of Lospalos, at a depth of 170.6 km.
There have been no reports of material damage or human losses as a result of the earthquake so far.
East Timor is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity. (QNA)
