Expo 2023 Doha/ Minister of Commerce and Industry Inaugurates Investment Hub

Doha, December 06 (QNA) - HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani inaugurated the Investment Hub at the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha in the presence of HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, who is also the chairman of the higher organizing committee of Horticultural Expo Doha.

The Investment Hub serves as a platform to enhance trade, industrial, and investment cooperation with various participating countries in the exhibition.

HE Minister of Commerce and Industry highlighted that the Hub sheds light on Qatar's leading economic position regionally and internationally, adding that it introduces the investment environment and promising opportunities that Qatar offers to businessmen and investors worldwide.

HE Minister of Commerce and Industry and HE Minister of Municipality took a tour of the Hub, exploring key projects and initiatives presented by participating entities, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar), the Qatar Financial Centre, the Free Zones Authority, Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), and the Media City.

The Hub offers an interactive experience for visitors to explore the investment journey, highlighting the support available for investors and the advantages throughout various stages of business establishment, from exploration to establishment and business expansion.

The participating entities within the Investment Hub showcase the benefits of the business environment in the country and initiatives launched to facilitate procedures, including legal and administrative requirements.

The Hub also highlights key laws and regulations enacted to stimulate foreign investments, such as the law regulating non-Qatari capital investment in economic activity, allowing foreign investors 100 percent ownership in many sectors, as well as laws regulating non-Qatari ownership and use of real estate, and the law regulating public-private partnerships.

The participation of the Investment Hub in Expo 2023 Doha aligns with the strategy aimed at promoting Qatar's status as a global trade hub attracting visitors regionally and internationally.
