Tasks of the Media Institutions Department

  • Media communication with foreign media institutions and journalists from outside the State of Qatar.
  • Documenting relationships with foreign media institutions, foreign journalists, and international organizations.
  • Issuing licenses for incoming foreign journalists.
  • Clearing technical equipment and devices of incoming journalists in coordination with airport customs authorities.
  • Providing incoming journalists with necessary information regarding transportation, hotels, tourist and heritage sites, and museums.

Visiting Journalist Registration

Data required to submit or provide for issuing a visiting journalist card and obtaining approval for filming:

  • Completed registration form.
  • Color copies of passport showing the visa (for foreign media equipment).
  • Copy of passport of the team or personal ID.
  • Scanned photograph.
  • Assignment letter from the concerned authority.
  • List of equipment and devices, including serial numbers.

Additionally, for local media equipment:

  • Company registration certificate.
  • No-objection letter from the sponsor for photographers.
  • Approval letter from the authority under which the filming locations fall.

All of the above data must be provided at least 20 days before the scheduled filming.
