CID Raises Pitch Against Crime at Industrial Area Forum
Doha, November 05 (QNA) - The Ministry of Interior's (MoI) Criminal Investigation Department (CID) raised its pitch against crime and security awareness at a forum organised here. The CID organised the lecture titled 'Stand Together Against Crime' for the benefit of many companies and their workforce operating in Qatar's Industrial Area, the MoI said. Among various issues, the lecture focused on how the management of companies could improve their monitoring skills to detect fraudsters in conjunction with Qatar's security agencies. The lecture was held as part of the CID's plan to root out crimes with the participation of police officers and members of the local community. Rayyan Security Department Community Policing Head Lt. Col. Sultan Al Kaabi; Rayyan Investigation Department Head Major Khalifa Mohammed Al Atiyya; Public Works Authority Road Projects Department Director Engineer Saud Ali Al Tamimi; Ministry of Labour Inspection and Monitoring Department official Jabir Ali Al Marri attended the lecture, the MoI said. Speaking at the event, Major Al Attiya reiterated the MoI's initiative to build effective partnerships with companies operating in Industrial Area to eliminate crime and ensure the safety and security of the workforce and general public. The department is keen to boost ties with companies and find solutions to the difficulties they face, he said and added that the objective is sustainable growth and keep pace with Qatar National Vision 2030. Officials reminded companies to appoint well-trained security personnel and installing surveillance cameras within and outside the premises. Ashghal Engineer Saud Ali Al Tamimi lauded the MoI for maitaining security and order in the community and its proactive role in joint programmes with different ministries and authorities in the country, particularly in Industrial Area concerning traffic, roads and tunnels. He pointed that the State of Qatar has allocated QR 4 Billion for the development of the Industrial Area which will be spent over six stages. The first stage is development of the old Industrial Area which costs QR 1.3 Billion with the aim to integrate Industrial Area with modern infrastructure, Al Tamimi said, according to the MoI. (QNA)
